While we get bored - 2-3 year olds don't. They really don't mind doing the same activity several times, and I often find that even if I've brought out the same toy four weeks in a row the kids still are interested, still look for the same thing. I often find that the first couple times I bring out a new activity I get very little language, they're busy exploring it, and then later on they're ready to start talking.
But, yeah. We get bored. So...
- boxes to hide things in
- animals - farm, zoo, birds, insects, pets etc
- pretend play food, tea sets, play phone, shopping play (any kind of play script stuff - if they've seen it happen, give it a try!)
- anything with pieces so they have to request - blocks, puzzles, potato heads, train/car sets, doll house/furniture
- goop, shaving cream
- puppets to revitalise songs and stories
