One of my favorite pre-k's is closing its doors after 9 years...due to the fact our govenor has not yet signed the state budget and subsidized funds for preschools are frozen. they have not made rent all summer. The owner has not paid herself...her personal bills are behind (her husband was laid off from his job recently, too)-her business is behind in bills...there is no saving it. I am heartbroken..I have an apraxic kiddo who is a step above selective mute he is so shy...and he struggles to talk...and FINALLY at 4 he is starting to come out of his shell (he has been there since infancy) and now this. the teachers have been excellent facilitating language aargh! Is anyone else hearing about this across the state? I know of at least one more school in trouble....and I have heard rumors or more...
