3 year olds going into pre-k limited language!!!

Hi , I have a couple kids on my caseload going into three year old pre school and they both have very limited expressive language skills and the words they do have are approximations. I'm worried that they are going to fall behind or have real problems with their peers. Is this typical of even some of the more severe cases ?? Any suggestions for working with the teachers???
