Note this is the reason for asking student to imitate motor movements:
He needs to be able to imitate non-speech activities and may need to be able to hold these in his mind before he can recall/retain speech words - most kiddoes imitate motorically before verbally developmentally which is the reason for having him imitate phyical movements or finger plays.
