1. Review his PLS scoresheet as this will provide you with what he does and doesn't know. Since autistic children don't always follow developmental norms this may provide a clearer understanding of his skills at least in a testing situation.
2. check out the Cycles approach that has been written about in sos by dawnslp - it's excellent - she'lll also send you more info on this. Check this out in the resource/materials section in sos.
3. If possible also check out "Easy Does It for Articulation (a 2 book set) -a phonological approach - by Marhta Drake published by Linguisystems.
4. Also I have often found as a starter that using the book "Word Flips" for learning intelligible production of speech by Rhonda Granger and produced by Super Duper a good starting point.
These are just many of the options to try but it's nice to have some materials as starting points. Good luck to you!
