Just the usual thought- Single words, 2 word combo's (My ___, Your___, little ___ ) Simple phrases "I see____. I found____.) Incorporating your words in to a motivating game (hide & seek, fishing, Elmo, Dora, Cookie Monster doll/puppet whoever- eat the words, find the card, hide the card etc...
The jump from single words to conversational skills is like going from your first step to riding a bike in the same day. Give it time and a lot of models and prompts.
