I am working with a few 24 month old little boys right now who only have interest in cars/trains. The problem is that when I bring these kinds of toys to therapy, I completely lose them. They will imitate car sounds, ask for more, say "go" and "stop", and all of that, but eventually they start running around the room with the car in hand and I completely lose them. One of these little boys is ONLY interested in trains. I cannot get him to participate in any other activity. Whenever I try, he runs out of the room and finds another train. I've asked his mom to put some of the trains away before I get there, but he just starts asking for them and won't let it go! What do you all do with little boys who only like trains?! How do get them interested in something else.
