I've been working with a 21-month old for the past 5-6 months. When I began, she vocalized with pleasure/displeasure (using only vowels), and every once in a great while, babbled with "da da". Since I have started therapy, she now has quite a bit of signs that she will both imitate and use independently - but she is not imitating anything verbally! We do simple oral-motor activities to improve awareness/tone(bubbles, whistles, some things with food), gross-motor activities, sensory activites, lots of silly play....and I feel like nothing is working.
Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas? I would really appreciate ANYTHING!
