Are there other sounds that she omits in initial position? Try just getting her to produce a consonant sound in initial position. Another thing I sometimes try is isolating the sound from the rest of the word and then working to get less and less space between the target sound (/s/) and the rest of the word, eventually blending the target sound with the rest of the word. I've had a fair bit of success with this.
