I am a CF also and I currently have 3 kids on my caseload who stutter... two 4 year olds and one 3 year old. Since they are so little and carryover is not always the greatest, I just focus on imitating smooth speech and initiating slow speech. They all respond well to that and we do a lot of re-phrasing using slow speech when they are dysfluent. Also, parents need to understand that they have to model slow speech at all times as well-- that has been my biggest challenge working with these three kids!
