I am seeing a 4 y/o male with, what I believe to be profound/severe apraxia of speech. He has a few vowels "oh" "ah" independantly "ay" with cues and /h/ and /m/ so far. He can say "mow" "Ma" "mama" "oh-m" (home) and "ah-m" (arm) given a model."hah hah and ho ho" independantly. He also makes the "m" with his upper teeth and lower lip (like an /f/)but can't do an /f/ or /v/ if modeled. I have tried fixing his placement but am hesitant as he is so limited in his sound inventory.. I almost want to take what I can get.
I have had NO luck with /p or b/
He can't blow or puff things off the table.. he can't spit toothpaste out of his mouth..his mom has to use water or baby toothpaste.
I see him x2 a week for 45 min and his school SLP sees him x2 for 15 min.
I need help!
