it takes a huge amount of work to pull off a show the size and with extra amenities provided by Barry with advertising and coffee/donut, food booth and signage, as well as table set up and take down, I hope everyone that attended has thanked him personally or by email/message board
Club shows and private swap meets take a lot more work than some members credit the show host for, these shows don't happen over one night of planning and halls don't come pre set up for free or without club volunteers, extra help is always welcome.
I will be taking up the voluntary duty of hosting the fall show in Bond Head again as it has been a previous location (that non members and the public have asked if it will be at the same location, even those that have not attended previous years) coming back to this location, show date will be on a SATURDAY (date TBA)as that is the day most people are picking/garage sales, running their weekend duties and as I am enjoying right now, a coffee decompressing and not burnt out at work on a Monday morning. We also received lots of positive feedback on the Saturday date so lets try it again
if any members are unhappy or wish change of the fall show date/location, I am more than happy to help someone host a show in their own town or desired location, I only ask you have a hall cost and floor lay out/dimensions before requests are made so I am not chasing my tail during a work week,
I saw very positive things at this CAFTA Show hosted by Barry, lets keep the ball rolling and keep the Club and shows moving in the right direction, I have heard we will be going back next year in the spring and my support is fully behind that decision
I look forward to seeing everyone at Paul's show in May an hopefully my truck is back on the road by then, my ears are open to feedback both positive and negative
