Several times. We all knew he was good. I think he probably beat me in every race we were in but maybe two. I know one time at the old Metrolina track near Charlotte I hit him about 5 times and he wrecked. I got wrecked later, so we were both in the pits. He came up, really mad, and started yelling at me. I yelled back a little. Two hours later, we were sitting in a bar in Monroe, drowning our sorrows and pledging our love to each other... LOL. Dale was a very good guy, very passionate about what he did. I last talked to Dale in maybe 1999 or 2000, I forget which. We had a long talk on the phone about old times. He was going to take me on a hunting trip in the off season after 2001, we were going to go to Idaho or somewhere. Of course, Dale died in February of that year, so we never got to do that. I still miss him. I miss him a lot. He's probably the greatest man I've ever known.
