I had a 4 race deal with an owner/driver. He had an orange car, and wanted his numbers to be red. David and I got in an argument about the colors because he claimed his people had a hard time seeing the number from the scoring tower. He wanted us to put black shading around the number, but my driver said no. Long story short, David had me escorted out of the track, my driver had his numbers shaded to David's satisfaction. LOL... That's the way Nascar works.
David's a super nice guy with a ton of responsibilities on race days. You could pay me 10 million dollars a year and I still wouldn't want to have his job. David and me are still friends, and talk once in a while. He sent condolences to Ginny last week when her mom died, which neither of us expected. David Hoots is a stand up guy.
