I think we can rule Stan Stennett out Keith. That picture (on the cover of the Skiffle Session e.p.) dates from the end of his Chris Barber days and I don't think Stan Stennet would have crossed his path until his days as a solo act in variety, rather later. In addition, Stan was on tv often in those days and I never once saw him play a flat top- he considered himself a dyed in the wool jazz guitarist and would have (rightly) regarded a 000 Martin as a folk guitar-absolutely not his thing at all. There are a few pics of Stan with various guitars on line- none of them are flat tops.
Bill Broonzy was associated with Martin guitars and toured with Barber- there is a pic of Bronzy and LD together on stage from that time. Possible the 00028 was something to do with Broonzy or one of his associates. Even that seems doubtful though.
I think that guitar is now likely to remain a mystery for ever unfortunately.
