Thanks, yes that was the one, I had forgotten it was for ATV.
I remember now how Lonnie had a row with the ATV management. They said that they would not pay for me as they had a drummer (Ronnie Verrell) in the Jack Parnell house band. Lonnie argued that under no circumstances would he use another drummer! Very flattering for me but embarrassing as well as I grew up worshipping at the alter of the Ted Heath Band and both Jack and Ronnie were in that band, (not to mention 'Animal' in the Muppets which Ronnie did!)
They said OK you can have Mark and we will pay, but he has to do the whole show! This meant doing Ronnie out of the gig, which caused me even more personal grief. In the end I am very pleased to say that Lonnie sorted it out and I only had to play for him, except for a couple of times when Ronnie rang me and asked me to dep for him, which I did with much trepidation but ended up having a ball. Even with Kenny Baker yelling at me to keep the bloody noise down!
