I've always wondered about the PYE 78s as some were made of Shellac and some vinyl. I still have five 78s and they are.
Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O. Vinyl
Cumberland Gap Shellac
Putting on the Style Vinyl
My Dixie Darling Shellac
Jack of Diamonds Vinyl
Does anyone know if each release was some Shellac and some Vinyl. It may have been a financial consideration as I've read somewhere that in the early days Vinyl was more expensive. was PYE the only label that released 78s in Vinyl, I seem to recall maybe HMV doing the same thing. Possibly a question for the older members of the forum. Come on Roger.
