A friend of mine has discovered this year a handful of recordings of the WEST FIVE SKIFFLE GROUP:
Iīm Satisfied With My Gal
Beale Street Blues
I Donīt Know
Face In The Rain
Pan American
recorded London, January 17, 1958
Does anybody know anything about the group or the line-up?
The informations about are like this:
"Today (2008) little is known about this band. The group was based in Ealing7, London. They appeared at various clubs in and around London area including the London Skiffle Cellar and Jimmy Tateīs Modern Music Club, where they were announced in a Melody Maker advertisement for July 1957 as competition winners. They even were presented on the second edition of the Saturday Skiffle Club."
But whatīs about the band members? One guess that eventually some of the BLUE MEN who recorded for Joe Meek could have been involved in the West 5 recording.
Rod Freeman, gtr/voc
Ken Harvey, ts/voc
Roger Fiola, hawaiian guitar
Chris White, gtr
Doug Collins, b
Dave Golding, dms/wb
