Interesting- and on the whole accurate- although the reference to LD as a skilled jazz guitarist betrays a lack of real knowledge of the subject by the writer.
The Chris Barber quote is a new one on me- hilarious!
The article is interesting for what it doesn't say as much as what it does say. The thing that always strikes me about the Colyer/Barber band is how much the others indulged KC with the skiffle vocals- explicable only by their reverence for him as a trumpeter, and their slight fear of him I suspect. The only person who would prefer to hear Ken's skiffle vocals when LD was on hand would surely be Ken himself- and possibly his mum.
