Of course you're right, Paul. I'm always conscious that it could be less-than-pleasant for Les' brother to read negative comments. At the same time, Lonnie and his music is a subject about which I'm passionate (and opinionated!), and I couldn't bring myself to compromise my remarks by editing them to make them palatable to everyone!
In any case, it's just my opinion in the end, and carries little weight (even in my house
). Les was a prominent band-member, and added a lot in so many ways, particularly in terms of his personality. I'm just a nit-picking perfectionist who didn't have any time for Cliff Gallup's replacement in the Blue-Caps, either!
Thanks for passing on Pete's 'hello' - I last saw him exactly five years ago (May 8th, 2003) at the Covent Garden Memorial Service. He's one of the 'good guys'!!!
