Regarding the Les v Denny debate, it's natural for Les's brother to come down on his side and be a bit upset reading negative things. If it's in the family you hear things differently and a bias comes into play. I happen to think that my brother is the best bass player on the planet. Perhaps he is.
I was talking to Peter Oakman the other day and he told me that he had played double bass with Denny in the sixties performing club dates as a duo. He also told me that at one time Denny Wright played with the Edmundo Ross band which would explain the occasional latin feel in his playing not so much with Lonnie but definately with Johnny Duncan,(Last Train to San Fernando.)
I have just discovered a couple of photos of Lonnie with Denny which I am guessing are from the sixties as Denny is playing a Gretsch.
Peter asked me to say hello to Roger.
