Its not about playing in the mud or not. The Decision to play is based on the field conditions and the townships that give us the permits. If we tear up the fields we will not be able to regain the permits again for the upcoming season. I strive to have the best fields in any league and will continue to do the best I can to make it safe for all players.
I know people pay money as a team and that companies and bars also pay good money for you to play. I want to support them and give every opportunity for all to play. I understand its frustrating with the weather but thats something we cant controll. This has been the worst year so far for the weather and I am trying to work with the teams and townships to play out as much as we can.
As with our league I give every team a vote on how the league runs but I have to make some decisions not only for player saftey but also I have to respect the wishes for the townships that allow us to play on their fields.
I want to be out there as much as any other player to play every sunday but this year has not been the best weather wise.
I hope that all teams and players can see where the decision to cancell or not comes from but I do look out for player saftey as much as the field liability and conditions.
I wish everyone a safe year and want everyone to enjoy the recreation sport that we play.
I want to also thank all that put their hard work into each year and give us the opportunity to be able to have a league to play in.
Donnie
