Together with Tina Woods, I am collecting data for a research project supported by the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association Health Committee Board. Please take time to read the following message if you are interested in contributing your time and input for this project.
Benefits of this research could potentially offer opportunities for improving the way we provide Mental/Behavioral Health Care to the Alaska Native people.
Complete a survey and be eligible to enter a raffle and win a $150, $100, or $75 gift card.
We are seeking Alaska Native Volunteers to participate in filling out an online survey. Must be Alaska Native and at least 18 years old or older.
This study tries to understand the mental health needs of Alaska Natives and the factors that may influence their use of mental health services. You will be asked to do 7 questionnaires with questions about your feelings regarding your ethnic and cultural heritage, your social experiences, your experiences with historical trauma, your mental health, and your attitudes toward mental health services.
~ If questions do not apply to you, it is okay to leave them blank.
You can take the survey by filling out a paper copy (available at the St. Paul Health Center-SPHC), web-based (by clicking on the following link), or by telephone (call SPHC and ask for Aubrey). The survey will take about 30-60 minutes.
We will not ask your name, e-mail address, or any other personal information. Your survey answers are confidential and we will not share your answers with anyone.
There are no risks by taking the survey, but you may feel uncomfortable with some of the questions. There are no benefits from participation, but the results can help others to understand better the experiences of Alaska Natives.
After you have completed the survey you will have an opportunity to enter into a raffle to win a $150, $100, or $75 gift certificate .The raffle is our way to thank you for completing the survey.
Your participation is voluntary and you can stop your participation at any time with no penalty.
Please contact Aubrey 546-8303 at the SPHC for questions.
