I think the dog anticipated not only taking the bite instead of the B&H, but KNEW the other hand was coming before the decoy brought it out. The slow-mo shows it was instantaneous. He came off the bite the same instant the decoy's hand came out for the correction. After the wreck, the decoy had his back to the rest of the group and they did not see what happened at first and it only lasted a few seconds. By the time the dog was taken off, the clip ended and the rest of the group likely caught on right after. The handler...at least she didn't pull and yank, feeding the frenzy.
When training for Sport, many people focus too much on the routine, as opposed to proofing the elements of the routine.
Fast cars and fast dogs, gotta keep those eyes open at all times...but it still won't keep the occasional wreck from happening. Shtuff happens.
