Would like to know if anyone has staged a non weapon threat, by someone the dog has never worked with and away from your usual training field. Like a park or some other unfamiliar place so your dog does not associates it with decoy work and trianing. No attacks or verberal commands, just to see if your dog will alert or see the threat on his on. The attacker could just rush towards you, maybe say a few ugly things, you know just a small threat, not over the top or following behind like a stalker, just to see if the dog will think for his self, because not all attacks or forth coming it's a scary world we live in these days. I believe if I were attacked out of the blue, first I would be stunned, shocked, and slow to react, so I would like to be certain my companion had my back. I think a mild threat would be a good way to test this, IMO. If your dog notices the mild threat and posters himself in a defensive stance, or growls, bark a warning, any attacker with some since would, should back way, and that would be a win with some high praise. What do ya'll think?
