I put just enough pressure on him to get him to start to think about running away. While he is mulling it over, I break and give ground. It will take increasingly more pressure each time we do this. Timing is EVERYTHING! You damn well better know how to read a dog if you are going to do this. This is easiest place in the world to crash a dog! Look at the difference in him the instant I give ground.
