When to teach the "OFF"

I start teaching the off as soon as they learn to fire good. The longer you wait, the harder it is to rein in. This will not be a one time thing for the dog. Do not move forward until you have a clean off at the current level.

As the dog progress through the different levels of his emotions, you will need to revisit OFF training again. If you do it this way he will understand "Oh you mean that for this too." Just periodic touch ups along the way makes it very easy.
