I would be remiss if I didn't ask: what about having the A/D use the dog's commands, giving the dog an opportunity to learn that commands come from the other end of the leash... and only from the pack members?
I imagine "verbal poison proofing", so to speak.... when the A/D "commands" the dog (in direct contradiction to the handler's command, i.e. telling an alerted dog to sit), the dog has the opportunity to comply. If he complies, he is engaged by the A/D - "loses", and the lesson starts over; if he doesn't, but remains vigilant to his handler's wishes, then he wins (by the trainer's definition).
Could that prove applicable?
