My Bride came up with this but I am sold on it.
The dog will never be more aggressive or serious than the least aggressive or serious of his two training partners.
The Agitator and the Handler.
If the Agitator is worried about being friends with the dog afterwords, the dog will have that attitude working.
If you want a serious dog you need a minimum of a serious Agitator and the dog back tied.
The main reason I back tie the dog is for my safety. If the Handler is not obstructing the goal that they want for their dog, they can stand right next to the dog and praise him. But I want him back tied!
