It's been a while, but hello HB, DP, Butch, and Jason. i agree wholeheartedly, finding the right trainer and decoy is paramount. i'm not sold on the "genetics as an excuse" angle, i think in the presas, there is just a much shallower gene pool, so a bad dog up the line wreaks more havoc than a weak one in a bulldogs lineage. bulldogs being around much longer than the recreated presa, and having the ability to absorb bad traits easier, with less overall impact to the dog sitting in front of you
that being said. Allan, your ability to take crashed dogs with unknown up-lines, and have them build a bond and then perform to your will is remarkable, and no one in the "genetics is the only thing" crowd would be able to explain, without conceding a large part of their argument, right off the bat. another thing, you talked about the bond between Bruce and Ryan, for a day and a half before i met them, and it was incredible to see it in person
i'd love to be able to train, hunt and bullshit with you guys regularly, but being in new york, it makes it hard to get down. so i'll just have to make my self more accessable on the board.
