I knew how to do it while I did it... I don't know if I can explain it in a way that makes sense without showing... but I'll try...
-select the part of the original sound you want to play with the music. The original sound should be right under the video clip frame in a frame called "voice". You select the part of the sounds you need...
-...then go to Track FX in the voice frame (for those of you who are really new to this, it's a green little + between the blue mute button and the red record button in the voice frame on the left of your screen)... the Track FX window should open at the bottom of your screen next to the preview. window..
-...and show you something called "Track compressor". Ignore the track compressor and look for another green + in that window. It should be on the right. There should be TWO green + next to each other. You take the left and it should say "Plug in Chain" when you go on it with your courser. You click that one...
-then another window should open that gives you lots of options. There might be several folders in it on the left side of the new window. Chose the one called "Sony"... then you should have a list of XF options on the right side of that window. You now have to double click on "Volume" and then on "ok"... The window should close...
-and you should be back to the Audio Track FX Window in your SMM. Now you should have a volume tool where you can change the volume of your selected clip without having to change the volume of your music etc. I think it works the same with the music FX though I've never tried that.
Um, ok, so this is how I did it when I played with it. Hope any of this makes sense.
Hugs
Anne
