we heard the cuckoo again yesterday.
tree paeony and lily of the valley near the maypole
beautiful clematis near the well/entrance sign
in the watergarden
bluebells
flower heads on handkerchief tree (Davidia)
tranquil shady apple trees
horse chestnut in full flower
take the steps near the main gate up into the woodland - 3 new compost areas, wild bluebells, the newly laid hedge (between the reservoir and the tennis court to be continued in the autumn), evidence of woodpecker on the trunks.
(nb old holly tree has been left to encourage wildlife)
continue towards the windpump and round the Mulberry tree (horizontal) which has been weeded recently and shows signs of buds.
the young native trees are mostly looking well but we know there are a few that need attention
