I am delighted to read the positive comments regarding Geoff Woolfe's book which makes available to many the manuscript that has sat in the library at Halsway Manor for 40 years.
On Tuesday, 18th March 08 we are holding a William Winter Evening, with a 3 course dinner, a talk by Geoff, the author of the book, followed by some playing of the tunes by Rob Harbron and Miranda Rutter who both perform on the accompanying CD. This promises to be a great evening. Free parking; bar open. You can book direct via this website, £15. In addition B/B will be available for those travelling from afar @ £25.
Also on Saturday, 5th April 08 at Lydeard St Lawrence village hall there will be a performance by the Hotwells Howlers, singers and musicians from Bristol, with tunes alternating with folk songs collected in Somerset and some history and information about William Winter.
