Yes, silk flowers are perfectly acceptable. Not only will you be able to save money by assembling the bouquets yourself, but you will also have access to flowers that might be out of season during the time of your wedding. There are a wide array of vendors that stock silk flowers and many are very realistic looking. Stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby also have example bouquet styles on display for ideas.
