I don't think people get us up here in the NW. We like to joke alot because we all get along for the most part! The trash talking is like a sport within the sport at a pull, but we are all friends so it's all good. I mean shit, when I get whooped by a buddies dog, I know it make's me feel better to call him a dick, or crack a mom joke, lol. But things come acrossed differant when you can't see a guy face and give him a chance to come back with a quick rip afterwards. So I can see how we may look like a bunch of asses up here sometimes, but I love pulling with the folks up here. I think we know how to get it done, and personaly I think the joking helps defuse some of the competitiveness which exists in the sport. One thing I can say is we've never had an out of towner say anything other then they had a great time at one of our pulls and that the will be back! As far as the dogs up here, there is just plane less of them. Less handlers, less dogs and less big pulls, there for less comp. But there are a handfull of handlers in this area that know what they are doing or are well on there way, and there are a few dogs that can put the whoop on any dog if they have there day! The PNW pull sceen is growing, but I think some of us up here still have some dues to pay, sure. I will perdict this, at the IWPA championships it will be a PNW dog that wins the 40# 60# and 80# classes at the least. Hows that for some trash, lol. Travel safe, and good luck to everyone!
