On Harvins TD and the Favre deflection it was painfully obvious that every single Packer player wanted a Favre interception. So much so that if you watch the Harvin TD not one of the secondary players was playing the man, they were playing the ball.
On the pop-up play, five Packers basically defended each other on what should have been an easily intercepted pass.
The over-riding desire to make one play - intercept Favre - dictated the entire defensive scheme. In a way it was a gamble. The first order was to stop Peterson, (98 yards and 50 through the air is not stopping Peterson) the second was to get an INT.
If they could get an INT, the momentum swing would have been huge, the fans would have gone wild and Favre may have gotten rattled.
Second observastion. Aaron Rodgers has the same problem Culpepper had/has. Unless a reciever is open (wide open) he holds the ball. His ability to anticipate a receiver coming open is simply not there. Aikman pointed out that on the second TD reception, the TE was open the entire time, but Rodgers waited until he was comfortable throwing to a wide open reciever.
Rodgers will throw to a deep reeiver who has broken open, but if the WR has anyone coming over the top or behind him he holds the ball.
Packers should have traded Kampman. Of all the GM blunders, this one is very bad. Kampman is a 4-3 DE in a 3-4 scheme and is a FA next season. Franchising him isn't worth it, since he doesn't fit anyway. It's hard to beleive that Loadholt is such an upgrade over Ryan Cook - who Kampan owned. Kampman for Ricky Williams is at this point a straight up good deal for the Packers.
I really respect Kampman and watching him being wasted is actually disturbing by any measure for any fan.
Not sure what AJ Hawk is waiting for... he was clearly outplayed by Chad Greenway... another Unknown prediction gone bad. Clay Matthews is a player.
The Tampa Bay game has let-down written all over it. The Packers really wanted this game to a man and now travel to Tampa Bay against a team they should easily beat.
