On the case of the Missing ECC Teasurer:
Even now some 21 hours after his curious non-appearance at the ECC AGM last night, nothing has been heard from the missing bean-counter.
The absence of the until-recent-committee-meetings-normally-punctual Mr. Spencer must surely be seen as suspicious. Other members of the committee looked especially suspicious at the news that there was to be no analysis of the usual rainforest of spreadsheets, being barely able to contain their guilty glee - and it must therefore be concluded that the veteran number-cruncher has been absconded, or has run off with the "prior season's surplus brought forward".
Your faithful inspector is not without a clue-seau however, and is following the trail to St. John's Wood this evening, where notorious ne'er-do-well and associate of the missing party, Monsieur Oddjob, will be questioned about the wayward money-man - after, of course, being questioned about his wayward bowling that is.
