***posting for Christie***
Hey all,
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that we are preparing for the 2010 Dutch Shepherd Calendar, with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting the dogs of the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue (NADSR).
In response to comments from previous calendars, we have made some changes this year. 12 categories have been created and owners will determine which area they would like to submit their picture to (but that could be several). NADSR is committed to taking in DS in need and finding appropriate loving and permanent homes. However, we are not oblivious to the versatility of the working qualities of the breed. We would like to celebrate the Dutch Shepherd for what is was created to be, and yet acknowledge that many wonderful people are stepping up to care for and love those that others have walked away from- whether working quality or not. Those rescues become as important as the working examples – when it comes to the role in their homes.
The following categories have been created to represent the 12 months:
1- Police K9
2- Protection Sport – Suit
3- Protection Sport – Sleeve
4- Search and Rescue
5- Agility
6- Herding
7- Flyball
8- Obedience
9- Leisure
10- Puppy
11- Rescue
12- Other
***Other to include anything not represented – different sport (weight pull, dock diving, etc), long or wire coat, confirmation picture……anything else!!!
I KNOW that we have dogs on this list that can be represented in one or more of these categories. PLEASE take advantage of this opportunity to show off your dog, and PLEASE try to help rescue by demonstrating how very cool and versatile Dutch Shepherds are.
With in the next few days, NADSR will post the details of submission. This will include an email address for online submissions, a mailing address for hard copies, a list of rules governing the polling process and finally a mandatory submission form for each photo.
Start digging and good luck!!
Christie
PS – We are actively looking for someone who is very familiar with the creation of online polls. If you are willing to help with the creation of this voting process, please contact myself (christie @ thunderhawkcanine.com) ASAP!!!
