Great news, I got back Flanns's hip results from the DV (Dobermann Verein) and he is rated HD 1 :-)
This is the ONLY fair and accurate indication of how good a dogs hips are. Certification through the parent breed club (DV SV ADRK etc.) or an independent Orthopedic organization like OFA or Penn hip NOT the word of the breeder or some generalist Vet. I was a certified Medical lab Technician and X ray tech. I've seen A LOT of xrays and I did't assume to guess what rating
Flann was going to get.
Now all I need to do is get my own hip/knee repaired so I can get back to training. I had
to pull from the trial(s) this weekend because of my knee pain. We did a hip xray last
week and I have arthritis in the hip. Still waiting to see the ortho MD about the knee. I
have a 10/05 appointment but my primary care physician is trying to get something sooner.
All this trouble started with a broken toe :-(
