That would be a great matchup. I hate it for Jamie that the papers have been ready for weeks but Bass Pro is holding off because he doesn't fit their image.
The only bad thing is that I'm pretty sure Bass Pro is moving to Newman next year, so whoever gets that ride better drive their ass off in 2010 or they will have serious trouble finding a sponsor, so I doubt Elliott would go there. Of course he pretty much knows he is going to be gone from RPM as well.
I did read on one of the ESPN chats that there is absolutely no rumors even going around about RPM making a run at Jamie. If they pick up Jamie and can't get rid of Elliott, they would have to try and find a sponsor for him in addition to finding associates for the 19 and 43.
To me, it sounds like it will either be Menard with his dad's sponsorship or no one. The last thing RPM needs to do is struggle with funding through another season.
