If there is one day out of the whole week that makes up the Snowball Derby weekend it would have to be qualifying on Friday night. It's just a day that can make you or brake you. Our car was better in the morning practice than it was all day yesterday so the day was already better than the last. Finally, practice got over around 3pm, an hour later than it was supposed to be and while we may have not really stood out on the speed chart, the car was really getting through the corners well, really better than it ever has here. I really had a good feeling once qualifying came, until I found out we had a problem in tech according to Ricky Brooks and that we were being penalized a lap in qualifying. So now to add fuel to the fire and my stress level I only had one lap to get in the show. We went out about twentieth out of sixty cars and put a lap of 16.966 which put us tenth at the time. I was pretty confident that we would be fine. We ended up 14th which seems to be about where we've practiced all weekend which is fine with me. I look at the day as mission accomplished I'm in the show! Tomorrow is a light day for me with only a happy hour from 11:30-1:00pm as most of the day is devoted to the pro late models.
