Regarding the Barn Dance...
I think it's do-able; it has been taught before with favorable feedback. I think the problem is just getting an equal number of guys and ladies on the floor for the dance, otherwise it gets awkward (at least I found it to be when it was taught last, and there were more guys than gals for the dance after the lesson). A suggestion had been made in the past to announce when the Barn Dance is on deck for the next song, and give people a chance to line up and get paired off...the down side to that is a minute or two of dead air time with no music. I'll pass it along to Debbie and get her thoughts about putting it on the calendar soon.
Thanks for the positive suggestion!

Is there any possibility that the Barn Dance could become a part of the Saturday evening mix (like, say, right after the Tush Push)? The instructors could teach it in five minutes right after their regular lesson, then the DJ could put it on after the Tush Push.
It's just such an easy dance to learn and a great break-the-ice kind of dance that would allow the singles to have a quickie dance encounter with 20 to 25 people, & enable participants to get an idea of who they might enjoy asking for a dance later (and also who might be receptive).
Just an idea for consideration.
