Some of you probably have noticed that the discussion about the dance floor has gone bye-bye from the message board. I unilaterally made the decision as moderator to remove it, as I felt the discussion had reached the end of its useful life once talk had turned toward legalities and liabilities and such. I feel it's appropriate for patrons to ask about plans for floor replacement or repair, and to expect a response from management to that question. As far as any other concerns associated with the condition of the dance floor however, I feel those are matters which become counterproductive to address in a public forum such as this.
On to the floor...
Management has been researching the options and associated costs of repairing or replacing the dance floor, and from what I understand, a complete replacement with a comparable floor was estimated at around $20,000. Also being looked at is the option of repairing the existing floor but I don't believe there are any estimates on that yet. At this point it's a matter of weighing the options, the costs, and benefits and drawbacks of each option, not the least of which is the "down time" the floor (and therefore us dancers!) would have.
I will post any updates as I hear of them. Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding.
