I haven't heard tell of any specific floor repair plans yet, but I will ask about that tomorrow night when we're there, and post any news about it here.
On a related note, I never paid much attention to dance floor surfaces until we started dancing a couple of years ago. But in the past few months, we have attended other venues (union banquet, and a couple of nightclubs) with "dance floors", and found them entirely unsuitable for country dancing due to the lack of surface smoothness. They worked great for stand-in-place-and-gyrate-your-hips stuff - which I was never any good at - but just try doing a horseshoe or West Coast! We'd sit back down and our friends then would jab us for being "dance snobs"...to which we'd respond by inviting them down to Bushwhackers with us one night, and see what we're talking about. All we'd get out of them was the deer-in-a-headlight look and an excuse!
