"As for dance floor etiquette, it is almost non-existent, especially when the swing dancers are on the floor. Joyce goes over dance floor etiquette, but for the most part people are talking and not paying attention, since they are line dancers and not partner dancers. And generally the partner dancers are at their tables not listening."
I agree that etiquette seems to be less than common knowledge on the busier nights sometimes. If we want to define the dance community into "partner dancers" and "line dancers", I think the etiquette problem is demonstrated by both sides fairly equally. Although most people seem to "get it", a few don't. For instance, when a song is played that you can line dance to or two-step to, the line dancers out in the middle of the floor are occasionally "mowed over" by some two-steppers who feel they are entitled to practically the enitre floor. Then, on the other side of the coin, there are also a few line dancers with a tendency to occupy more than their share of space on the floor, and make it difficult or annoying for their "neighbors" on the floor. On those crowded nights, everyone needs to tighten up their moves a little, and be courteous to the others out there.
Still, I think the floor at Bushwhackers is far better than those "other" places around town, where etiquette isn't even in the dictionary. I just wish there was a better or more practical way of getting the word out to everyone.
