This is my opinion, These are my observations:
As a game gets smaller we play the same people over and over and for many more hands. Many more chances for bad behavior to surface which builds tension at the table. Things are done, comments made, the director called, etc. etc....
No matter who is right, the bad feelings have been planted with these 4 people to carry around the room. As far as I know we have no "relaxed rules" games so the director should enforce and instruct when these conflicts arise. Like, touching a card in dummy before declarer calls the card. This, of itself, is not a biggy, I even pull small cards from dummy when appropriate, but if my opponents objected, technically they are correct so I would apologize and not touch a card til my declarer called it. Can we not say "I'm sorry" follow the rules and be happy? I say YES. Stop the arguing, get along! Summer is here and without you we will not have a game. These words apply to all bridge clubs.
