Dear Members, Non-members and readers of the Association Notice Board.
Once more there has been an increasing amount of mail appearing on these pages, where some writers believe they are 'humerous', worse still - one or two appear to agree with them.
Sadly, some mail has been entered using the name(s) of known people around the country.
A contact e-address has been included which is not the real address for those so named.
In addition, personal details have been intimated and cannot be permitted on the association board.
This has caused people great distress and they have contacted the AOT to express their concerns.
The Association has been 'teased' to remove mail or even 'block' mail, even suggesting that the association had already 'lost' 5 members because of removal of messages from the Board.
Well, tonight - more have been removed.
All are copied with the sender computer ID number.
Because comments are made about people, or supposedly by those named in the mail.
The Association have copied the ID numbers and the messages.
If in any event, those persons so maligned by some of the mail decide to proceed towards legal action for Libel, we will offer the information we hold after contacting the source NHS IT and Executive. For those who have switched to a personal computer and therefore a different ID, the numbers have been cross referenced.
In the meantime, because of system links in the NHS, if we 'Block' the offensive mail, we would be locking out many more readers and writers.
This matter is serious and for the greater majority who hold similar aims to the association, don't allow those bitter souls to muddy your professionalism.
Rather than shouting at the Association for removing messages, you should be admonishing those you know who are tarnishing your profession.
A couple of writers to the Board have resorted to writing a commentry and then replying to themselves under another psuedonym.
What a hoot!
To have someone playing with themselves at your professional expense.
Should we put up with that behaviour whilst fighting for better education, training, recognition and Pay Banding?
Please support the Association ~ Not the Wags.
