It never has, but if you disrupt the foliage at all it has a peanut butter smell. I also have comosa that looks pretty nice, and supposedly a little hardier, but isn't nearly as cool of foliage. If it doesn't make it this year I may also try one against the south side of the house next summer and see how it does.
