The rice paper plant is on its second year,so it will be a while before it gets a good start to take over, but the castor beans get huge every year, amazes me how fast they can grow,20ft or more in 6 months!
The Japanese butter bars,(petasites) have started to make there move, but for some reason, the leaves don't get as gigantic as some of the photos I've seen of them,my favorite is the variegated one.
This year,I've gotten into palms and citrus hardy forms, and can't wait to see what they will do here,I have a TRifolate Orange tree planted and a pineapple guava, and will plant a russian quince next spring.
Palms I have planted are trachycarpus waggies,T.
fortunei, and Pindo palm, sabal minor, sago, and a washy fil,and washy robusta. These all have some protection but no additional heat,so we will see how they compare to what they say or compare to the hardiness that is written about them.
