I have one doing its first winter here, it's all of a foot tall. I'm sure it would have liked a little more sun than the spot I chose but I need it where its at not only for aesthetic purposes but also to keep the darn kids from walking along the top of my retaining wall on their way home from school.
One inch spikes ought to do the trick!!
